Effects of self-disclosure nursing based on psychological crisis on emotional distress and medical coping strategies in older adult patients with osteoporotic fractures
To explore the effects of self-disclosure based on psychological crisis on emotional distress and medical coping styles in elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures. This study was a retrospective analysis, and 100 elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures admitted to Lishui Central Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were included. They were divided into a routine group (50 cases, receiving conventional nursing model) and an intervention group (50 cases, receiving conventional nursing + self-disclosure nursing based on psychological crisis) according to different nursing methods. The emotional distress, self-efficacy, coping style and quality of life of the two groups of patients before and after the intervention were compared. Compared with before intervention, the scores of the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), and POMS in both groups decreased after intervention. The scores of the intervention group [(41.05±4.61) points, (43.58±4.79) points, (43.59±3.86) points] were lower than those of the conventional group [(47.59±4.58) points, (48.96±4.43) points, (50.16±3.91) points], and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05); after intervention, the scores of pain management [(18.66±2.64) points], physical function [(36.34±4.12) points], and symptom coping [(31.22±3.46) points] in the intervention group were higher than those in the conventional group [(15.77±2.72) points, (31.28±4.85) points, (26.54±3.58) points], and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05); after the intervention, the scores of avoidance [9.67±2.18] and submission [8.13±2.34] in the intervention group were lower than those in the conventional group [12.35±2.13] and 10.87±2.46]; the score of facing [25.17±3.08] was higher than that in the conventional group [20.08±3.14], and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05); 3 months after the intervention, the score of Chinese Osteoporosis Quality of Life Scale (COQOL) in the intervention group was lower than that in the conventional group [73.68±9.61 vs. 89.73±9.14], and the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05). Self-disclosure nursing based on psychological crisis can effectively improve the emotional state of elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures, relieve emotional distress, thereby changing their disease coping measures, improving self-efficacy and quality of life.
