Application of individualized management of risk factors for surgical hypothermia in older adult patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery
To study the effect of individualized management of risk factors for surgical hypothermia in laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery in the elderly. A case-control study was conducted. A total of 97 elderly patients who underwent laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery in Huzhou Central Hospital from December 2021 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into a control group (n = 48, individualized management) and an observation group (n = 49, individualized management + surgical hypothermia risk factor management) according to different management methods. The spontaneous breathing and consciousness recovery time, complication rate, postoperative rehabilitation quality, body temperature and state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI) score of the two groups were observed. The spontaneous breathing recovery time and consciousness recovery time in the observation group were 8.0 (8.0, 9.0) min and 12.0 (11.0, 13.0) min, respectively, which were shorter than those in the control group (9.0 (8.0, 11.0) min and 13.0 (11.0, 16.0) min, respectively (Z = 2.95, 2.81, both P < 0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 10.20% (5/49), which was lower than that in the control group (29.17% (14/48)) (χ 2 =5.54, P < 0.05). The intestinal function recovery time, bed rest time and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (Z =3.41, 3.09, t =4.75, all P < 0.001). The tympanic membrane and axillary temperatures at all time points in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (all P < 0.05). The STAI scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (t = 2.73, 2.93, both P < 0.05). High-risk factors of surgical hypothermia combined with individualized management can effectively maintain warmth, promote postoperative recovery of patients, improve the quality of rehabilitation, effectively prevent postoperative complications, and relieve patients' negative emotions.
